Frozen Pond Technique was invented by Kathy McGuire. It is a cool glazing technique that you can add to your piece. It looks like pools of water on a black background. It is a really cool technique.
Materials Needed
- Bisque Plate (Something flat is much better for this technique)
- Running Hot Chowder
- Obsidian or a black glaze that is “stable” (does not move)
- Glaze of your choice that does not move
- Brush (I like sumi Brushes)
Instructions
- Dip or pour Obsidian onto your plate
- If you brush add 1 coats of Running Hot Chowder (RHC) to your plate
- Use a Sumi brush to make circles and add 2 coats of Running Hot Chowder (RHC) to your plate
- Add a stable glaze to the top of your piece
- I have not tried glazes with speckles or crystals in it so experiment
- Add it to your glaze fire and watch the magic happen!!!
