Line Blend

Supplies you will need

  1. Base glaze recipe
    • Glaze Materials needed for a 100g base glaze batch
  2. Colorants
  3. Talisman Test sieve (80 mesh)
  4. 5 Test Tiles
  5. Solo Cup
  6. Immersion Blender

Steps

  1. Make a 100-gram test batch of your test glaze
  2. Add 1 gram of the colorant
  3. Dip the test tile
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 4 more times
  5. Fire the test tiles

If you like two of the colors but think that you might like the colors in between two of the tiles, like 1 and 2 percent, run another line blend but in increments of .1 ie. 1.1, 1.2 1.3 1.4, and so on.

After doing the line blend above choose two colors you want to experiment more with.

  1. Make 5 100-gram test batch of your test glaze
  2. Add the first colorant to your glaze in an incremental leap
  3. Do the same thing but starting at the other end of the line
  4. Dip one test tile into each of the cups.
