You can make colored clay a few different ways.
Materials
- Bone dry Clay
- Rubber mallet
- Two 1 Gallon Plastic Bag
- Mixing bowl
- Scale
- Mason Stains
- Respirator
- 2 plastic containers
Steps
- Measure out your dry clay
2. Put it in the gallon plastic bag
3. Use the mallet to smash the clay into a fine powder
4. Wait a few minutes for the dust to settle
5. Put the clay in one plastic container
6. Measure out 30% of the clay weight and add the water to the other container
7. Take 1-10% of mason stain to clay
8. Add the mason stain in with the dry clay and thoroughly mix dry
9. Add 20% of the water and keep adding water until it starts to stick together. You may be surprised at how little water it feels like there is but keep working it and add water little by little should be between 20-30%
Store the whole thing in another gallon plastic bag.
