Materials needed
- Bisque Bowl (needs to have a slope) or mug
- Mayco Stroke & Coats
- You can use a brush but if you have the 8 oz or larger bottles these tips work much better to apply the stroke and coats
- Flux
- Brush, Fineliner
- Even better but don’t need to have it is the Silk Paint
- Glaze of your choice
- May need to test to see how it works
- I usually use a semi transparent glaze
This is a sample design and how I made my pieces shown above you can try other ways too
The orange-red lines are the flux and the green dots are the stroke and coats
Instructions
- Fill the pen with Flux
- Optional put the writer tips on the Stroke & Coat bottles
- Draw “W’s” either like the example or just underneath not connected with the flux on the inside of your bowls or just the top quarter or fifth of your mug
- You could also do X’s or other patters your choice
- Make sure you have 2 good coats of flux
- Your choice of Stroke and Coats add dots inside the middle of the “W”s
- Another option is to have the dots touching the bottom of the “W”
- Add a glaze on top. I usually use a semi-transparent glaze like celadon glazes
- Fire
