Praseodymium Oxide PrO2
  • Weak coloring oxide
  • Melts at 1710°F
  • One of lanthanide oxides
  • Classified in periodic table as rare earth oxide
  • Not used extensively in ceramics but used in yellow stains with zirconium silicate
  • Oxide is slightly soluble in water
  • Very toxic
  • Can be obtained as oxide
    • Usually introduced into glaze recipe in form of commercial stain like Mason 6433, 6405, or 6407.
