Slipping and scoring

What is slip

Slip is essentially liquid clay. Slip acts as an adhesive by bonding the two pieces. It moistens the clay and once the clay dries in the scored marks it helps make the bond even stronger.

What is scoring

Scoring is the process of making marks in the clay. Roughening up the surface of the piece. Scoring gives the two pieces some tooth which helps both pieces hold on to each other.
